SOP-Metal is investing in a new robotic press brake cell to automate its sheet metal production and increase efficiency in high-volume series.
The solution will reduce manual workload, improve repeatability, and streamline production processes.
The cell will consist of:
▪️Industrial robot
▪️Electric press brake
▪️Insertion press
The robot will handle all material handling – from picking metal sheets and transferring them between bending steps, to stacking the finished components onto pallets.
This investment is part of SOP-Metal’s ongoing strategy to modernize its machinery, increase the automation level, and meet customer needs with higher volume orders and more consistent quality.
“This is a logical next step in our automation journey. The new robotic cell helps us scale up large series production, reduce ergonomic strain, and ensure consistent, high-quality components in every batch,” says Sami Kuntola, CEO of SOP-Metal.
The delivery of the cell is scheduled for the end of this year, with production ramp-up expected by early 2026.
