SOP-Metal Oy has acquired the share in the Finnish company Origo Engineering Oy

SOP-Metal acquired 18.75% of Origo Engineering shares, specializing in mechanical design and 3D printing. The multinational subcontracting group Leinolat Group Oy also acquired a similar stake in the company.

This merger was a strategic decision for SOP-Metal. The companies have collaborated earlier and Origo Engineering’s premises are located in the same building as SOP-Metal in Runsor, Finland.

“So far our our cooperation has been insignificant, but now it`s developing. In the future, we will improve our production solutions for our customers with the use of Origo Engineering’s know-how” says Pekka Särkiniemi, SOP-Metal’co-owner.

In addition to design expertise, 3D printing was another important reason for buying the share. Origo Engineering has currently five 3D printers.

“We are constantly looking for fresh production ideas with our customers in 3D printing. In the future, our cooperation will benefit all customers of the SOP-Metal group.”
